In March 2020, a European REXUS rocket will carry an experiment into space that was designed and built by a small group of students from the HES-SO.
Our special guest speaker, European Space Agency’s engineer Koen DeBeule, will talk about his engineering work at ESA as a «last-resort problem solver» and how he came to do what he does today.
His talk will be preceded by short presentations from the current and previous REXUS teams: The HADES team — the current HES-SO team — will present its innovative space capsule and their journey-to-launch campaign, and the ARES II team — the experiment flown last year — will show their scientific results and talk about their launch campaign.
An exhibition of all of the previously-flown and ready-to-be-flown hardware will be held in the foyer.
Speaker :
Koen De Beule is a Belgian electronic design engineer at ESA and is often confronted with solving last-minute problems.
The conference will be followed by an aperitif.
